Relationship Reflection

Relationships are important to me because it is through these relationships that I am able to share my joys and tribulations.  Some of the relationship in my life that I value are as follows:

Rob-he is my best friend and boyfriend.  He is very supportive of me in whatever I do and I support him.  This relationship was one that grew out of mutual respect and friendship.  I see this as a partnership because he has children and we are both looking out for their best interests.

Kevin-he has been one of my best friends for twenty years.  We first met while working together and quickly became friends.  We have maintainted our friendship by being supportive of one another, making each other laugh, sharing things with one another, and helping each other when we can.  He was there for me when my grandmother died, and I was there for him when he got married.

Beth-the associate teacher in my classroom.  We have been working together for 10 years now and are so in tune with one another that we often find ourselves thinking about the same thing at the same time.  She is truly a partner to me in providing the best educational experiences we can for the children in our classroom.  We support each other and share laughter and frustrations.

  1. Kathy,
I love that you mentioned your relationship with your associate teacher. I think it is so important to have a positive relationship with anyone that works with you in your classroom. During the past four years, I have had several different people fill the Early Childhood Special Education Attendant position in my classroom. However, this year has been the best yet, as I have a great relationship with the new person that was hired this year for this position. We share an understanding of how our classroom works and communicate openly with each other. Our positive relationship has had a very positive impact on our students, as well. It's great to hear that you and your associate teacher have an open and supportive relationship.
